Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s neighbours have sighed with relief as the Royals gear up to move back to the UK.

Earlier this week, The Telegraph dropped jaws by breaking the news that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are returning to Britain, six years after their exit from the Royal Family.

After the surprising news grabbed the spotlight, residents of California’s Montecito – the neighbourhood where Harry and Meghan have been living since 2020 – were asked how they feel about the decision.

According to some insiders, acclaimed actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who is also a resident of Montecito and runs a lifestyle brand Goop, expressed delight upon learning that the couple is leaving the US, as she had grown weary of being constantly compared with Meghan, who also owns a lifestyle brand As Ever.

"Gwyneth didn't like being compared to Meghan, so she is glad she is moving out of Montecito. Gwyneth also did not like all the comparisons with Meghan's brand and her brand Goop, it was like enough already! But she wishes them well with their new life,” they told.

A second source stressed that there is no genuine rift between Gwyneth and Meghan, sharing, "Gwyneth really admires Meghan" and that "the world has been hard on her."

The tipster continued to share that the Marty Supreme star objected to being pitted against another woman, viewing such comparisons as "petty and mean."

Meanwhile, speaking to the Daily Mail, Vanessa Lynn, who runs a women’s boutique in the neighbourhood, blasted the parents of two in a blunt reaction, stating, "We don't really give a c**p.”

Expressing frustration, Lynn said that Montecito, which was “a nice sleepy little town” before Harry and Meghan’s moved in, became the center of attention, drawing large crowds hoping to catch a glimpse of the Royals.

She believes that the Sussexes never truly become a part of the Montecito community, noting that the residents never saw them mingling with others nor witnessed them walking down the street or shopping in the local markets.

"Harry and Meghan didn't really assimilate into the community. We rarely saw them walking down the street or shopping in town,” she furiously stated.

Seconding with Vanessa Lynn’s thoughts, her pal Debbie opened up about the opinion local business owners have of the Sussexes.

She revealed, "They never really went out and about anywhere. We all hoped they would support local shops and patronise local restaurants, but that rarely happened."

"Everything in Montecito was about Harry and Meghan this, Harry and Meghan that, and it got tiring, especially for the other stars who live there," one source added about the residents’ growing frustration with the Royal couple.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to return to the UK with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, by the end of this month.
