Olivia Rodrigo has shared first statement after a troubling situation that occurred at her Daisy Chain Fields Festival.
Taking to her official Instagram handle a day after the event on Sunday, August 30, the Serena Joy singer penned a heartfelt message, expressing disbelief and gratitude to fans for making her charitable show a massive success.
In the warm statement, the songstress described the latest Daisy Chain Fields Festival as “the greatest joy of my career.”
“seeing daisy chain come to fruition yesterday was the greatest joy of my career. riot grrrl mosh pits. friendship bracelets being made on the grass. young girls on their dads shoulders. I am still in a bit of disbelief that it happened and I still feel incapable of properly expressing the gratitude that I feel for every person who believed in this vision and fought so hard to make it a reality,” she penned.
The Traitor hitmaker continued, “last night after the festival was over and everyone had gone home, my friends and I ran around the grounds and tried to process all that we had just witnessed. we ended our night of frolicking at yoko onos ‘wish tree’ installation at the entrance of the festival. it was the most beautiful artwork (yoko if ur reading this I love you) where festival goers wrote down something they hoped for on a tag and tied it onto a branch of a tree.”
In the message, Olivia Rodrigo further noted that while some wishes were silly, most people hoped for peace, happiness for their loved ones, and a chance to make a difference.
She went on to express that the wishes made her emotional and showed her why the festival meanst so much to her.
“thank you to everyone who came yesterday who showed me that joy is a part of the solution. until next yearrrrr,” the 23-year-old singer-songwriter concluded.
