Manoj Bajpayee has undergone a striking transformation for his new role.
For Sudhir Mishra’s new project, the Gangs of Wasseypur actor debuted an unrecognizable look, offering fans a glimpse of his transformation into Mahatma Gandhi.
In the photos shared on social media, Bajpayee can be seen debuting a completely bald head and loincloth, as well as a walking stick.
The snaps show Bajpayee-portrayed Gandhi looking up and away from the camera as other freedom fighters walk behind him.
A “Long Live Mahatma Gandhi” banner also appeared in the background.
As reported by ANI, the movie, which is directed by Mishra and also stars Saurabh Shukla in a key role, focuses on a little-known 21-day period from India’s independence movement.
While plot details have been kept under wraps, the untitled film will reportedly explore the emotional and personal side of a major historical turning point.
The project’s release date has also not been set as of now.
