Prince William is believed to have taken a sigh of relief after reportedly "forcing" a decision of his liking from King Charles.

In a shocking turn of events on Monday, September 7, the 77-year-old monarch broke his silence on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's current Royal status, just days after their return to the UK for an "extended" period.

As confirmed by senior Royal correspondent Rebecca English, "The King has laid out his position on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex returning to the UK in a letter to 'senior stakeholders', including the government, military and Lord Lieutenancies, from his Lord Chamberlain

Now sources close to William are claiming that the Prince of Wales is the reason Charles had to issue clarification on Harry and Meghan's position in the firm.

"William had had enough of the confusion," an insider told Rob Shuter.

They went on to share, "Lord Lieutenancies were asking how Harry and Meghan should be treated."

"William's answer was brutally simple: nothing has changed. They are out," added the source.

The clarification, issued through the Lord Chamberlain at the King’s direction, effectively kills any suggestion that returning to Britain brings the Sussexes closer to official royal life.

“William has won, for now,” noted the insider, adding, "Harry and Meghan are back in Britain — but they’re not back in the royal family.”
