Queen Camilla is stepping out to support a cause close to her heart, amidst her potential acting competition buzz with Meghan Markle.

On the same day the Duchess of Sussex was hit with controversy surrounding her dad, Thomas Markle's child abuse allegations, Her Majesty made a surprise appearance in Wiltshire.

The United Kingdom's Queen consort attended a key summit, highlighting gender-based violence, especially the rising abuse cases targeting women across the globe.

Queen Camilla's long association with gender based violence

For the unversed, the 79-year-old Queen has actively championed efforts to combat domestic abuse and gender-based violence, including high-profile visits and addresses in Wiltshire focused on the Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG) coalition.

But today, according to Daily Mail's editor, Rebecca English, King Charles's wife attended the specially organized event, the Ending Violence Against Women and Girls summit.

During the prestigious royal occasion, Camilla listened to speakers, including Dame Nicole Jacobs, Domestic Abuse Commissioner for England and Wales, and spoke about those who have inspired her work in the field.

Meghan Markle's father's abuse drama

This came on the same day when Meghan Markle broke her silence on her estranged father's abuse controversy.

Earlier today, the BBC reported that images of the Duchess of Sussex’s father leaked from his former home in the Philippines, showing him physically abusing children.

Though Thomas Markle has denied possessing any such images, Meghan addressed the controversy in a letter in which she shared utter "distress" and disappointment over the allegations.

She confessed that she had been aware of the incident since 2018, when the Metropolitan Police shared the allegations with her in 2018.

"I am deeply distressed at the news that has come to light in the last 24 hours, and my thoughts are with any children who may have been harmed," Meghan added.

Why Queen Camilla and Meghan Markle spark rivalry buzz?

However, Camilla's presence at the key event may be a hint at a potential rival to Meghan, as Her Majesty is set for an acting competition with the Duchess.

As the world is aware of the feud between Royal Family and the Duke and Duchess since their UK exit in 2020, the Queen and the As Ever founder have sparked new rivalry surrounding their respective positions in entertainment field.

Where the Suits alum is facing real and reel life hurdles, the Daily Mail's diary editor Richard Eden has shared in his new article that Peter James, who is one of Camilla's favourite authors, hopes to see her and King Charles star in the ITV adaptation of his best-selling Roy Grace novels.

Speaking at the Brighton Palace Pier launch of his latest novel, Dead In Three Two One, Mr James revealed, "I’m going to ask Camilla if she’d like to play herself in Grace."

Well, Meghan Markle, who denied her acting comeback in The Gentlemen series since returning to the UK in August of this year with her family, might receive an unexpected  competition with Queen Camilla.
