Prince Harry has revealed why his family’s return to Britain was decided at short notice, amid renewed speculation about his strained relationship with Prince William and the wider Royal Family.
In an interview with GQ, the Duke of Sussex explained that although he and Meghan Markle had considered returning to the UK for some time, the final decision was taken after the right opportunities emerged.
Harry explained, “It’s something that we’ve thought about, and we’ve considered. But for us, when certain stars align, and it’s clear that this should or probably will end up being the case, then we lean into that.”
“To actually have my whole family there with me, the place that I grew up, wanting to be able to show my kids where I grew up and have them have the experiences to some extent that I had, the good rather than necessarily the bad, provided real proper serious thinking as to: ‘This is an opportunity, let’s do it now,’” the duke added.
Harry further underscored his desire to introduce his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the country where he was also brought up along with his family.
The Duke further cited educational opportunities as a major factor, revealing that his children had been attending school for two weeks and were enjoying the experience.
Harry's statement followed rumours of strained relationship with Prince William
The statement comes after Prince Harry admitted that mending ties with his family is "the most important thing."
However, Prince William is seemingly unhappy with Harry till yet, as shockingly responded to Harry’s reconciliation offer, with a source confirming to Mirror that William has "no intentions" to engage with Harry.
"There isn't a world right now where the Prince of Wales can imagine repairing the relationship with his brother. He remains deeply hurt over the many things the Duke of Sussex has said publicly about him and other family members," said the insider.
