Prince William has taken Royal fans by surprise with his unannounced first appearance at the Graham Norton Show.
Just two days after welcoming the Sultan of Oman, Haitham Bin Tariq, on his state visit to the UK, William stole the spotlight with his beaming presence at the late-night comedy talk show – as part of a special edition for the Earthshot Prize.
Norton surprised the audience by inviting the future King to join Cate Blanchett, Robert Irwin and Hannah Waddingham, who are all involved with William’s environmental initiative.
During his candid conversation with the late show host, William highlighted the need of optimism and urgency to tackle climate change.
“For many years I was hearing stories about environment issues and one thing that struck me was the negativity and doom which got me down,” said William about the Earthshot Prize, which he founded in 2020.
He continued, “I thought we could do something more powerful and more optimistic and the idea of an awards’ ceremony came about and we could talk about urgency and optimism together. It’s all about getting excited.”
“There are some amazing people out there doing things to protect the world. We could really highlight what is being done and scale them to the next level to have more impact around the world,” added the heir.
This surprise from The Prince of Wales – which came just hours after a source revealed William’s stance on estranged brother Prince Harry’s reconciliation plea, received mixed reaction on the internet.
One user commented, “William lack purpose and work ethics, talk shows appearances don’t change his aimlessness! I knew he was dumb but who tf is advising him!”
“I thought royals don't act like celebrities. This is giving nothing but celebrity vibes,” added another.
“Ever since Harry and Meghan came back, he and his wife have had to actually start doing shit again, lol. I bet they're pissed they have to work,” a third noted.
One user penned, "He’s such a cornball. Trying to be like his younger brother."
While other fans could not help gushing over King Charles’ elder son, as one wrote, "Prince William is the fun and cool and unproblematic royal. IYKYK"
Another added, “blessed with wit and humour, prince william talks about things people actually enjoy listening to.”
Prince William is now all set to embark on a trip to India with Catherine in November to celebrate the sixth awards, followed by the inaugural Children's Earthshot ceremony in Mumbai.
