IShowSpeed’s emotions got the best of him while exploring Apple’s new iPhone Duo with Apple CEO John Ternus.
According to Marca, the streamer met Ternus at the company's new product announcement on Wednesday, September 9, at Apple's campus in Cupertino, California.
Standing in front of new Apple CEO and holding the brand-new iPhone Duo, the 21-year-old streamer suddenly decided that simply testing the device was not enough. He wanted to make history or at least create the first viral moment of Apple’s new era.
IShowSpeed history-making backflip
Minutes after getting his hands on the new iPhone the streamer thought of a wild idea to do a backflip.
Speed said, “But wait, I gotta be the first person to do a backflip holding an iPhone Duo. Chat, we should make history right now.”
Moments later, Speed launched himself backward, completed a full rotation and landed safely without dropping Apple’s most expensive new iPhone.
The room erupted as he celebrated becoming, by his own declaration, the first person to perform a backflip while holding an iPhone Duo.
“First person,” he shouted before turning the stunt into a perfect joke about the phone’s defining feature. “I flipped. I flipped the iPhone.”
Ternus could only watch as Speed transformed what is normally a carefully controlled Apple demonstration into something chaotic and spontaneous.
Fans’ reaction
IShowSpeed’s reaction and backflip with iPhone duo sparked social media reaction who believed that is the only person who can do so.
A user wrote, “First person to do a backflip holding the iPhone Duo.”
“Most random person to unveil an iphone,” another added.
Some users noted, “Apple ceo started shaking,” and “Apple ceo was lowkey worried.”
“Only Speed would do this at Apple,” gushed an Instagram user.
Apple had just introduced a $1,999 device designed to represent the future of its most important product.
Apple’s foldable phone features a 7.6-inch interior display, a 5.4-inch exterior screen, the A20 Pro chip and support for the Apple Pencil. It can run two applications side by side and is scheduled to arrive in stores on October 23.
