Mathew Rhys's outstanding performance in The Beast in Me and Widow's Bay have made him the 2026 Emmy superstar.

On Monday, September 14th, the American star took home two trophies, becoming the first person to win in two lead acting categories in one night. 

He secured the Best Actor in a Comedy Series for Widow's Bay; later, he was announced as the Best Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for The Beast in Me.

However, Taylor Swift and Mariska Hargitay made an unusual appearance on Law & Order: SVU, as she made a surprise cameo during the pre-taped SVU Emmys special segment.  

The 62-year-old American actress also hosted the night, paying tribute to the many stars, including the legendary singer Dolly Parton, Rob Reiner, and other deceased artists, who left this world this year. 

Notably, the 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards took place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
