Taylor Swift is back to the spotlight for her chic fall fashion statements.

On October 3, 2026, the Cruel Summer hitmaker surprised her best friend Dakota Johnson by joining her during her Saturday Night Live monologue, and turned the already highly anticipated episode into an unexpected fashion moment.

Taylor Swift’s chic fashion look for fall

For the special cameo, Taylor Swift looked elegant in an off-the-shoulder, plaid mini dress in muted tones of brown, beige, and grey. The structured piece featured a crisscross pattern across the silhouette and was tailored to fall just above the knee.

She paired the chic outfit with dark brown, knee-high leather boots that gave the look a classic autumnal finish.

Styling her blonde hair straight with her signature full bands framing her face, the Grammy winner completed her look with minimal accessories, which included a simple gold pendant necklace, a gold bracelet, and wore her iconic red lipstick for the perfect finishing touch.

Dakota Johnson’s SNL monologue

The Verity star opened her Saturday Night Live monologue by reflecting on her history of dating musicians, including her recent relationships with Chris Martin and Role Model.

After parting ways from both the musicians, Johnson recently sparked dating buzz with rapper Machine Gun Kelly.

“I went through two very public, very lame breakups with two very awesome musicians. “It’s not my fault, though. Some people leave concerts with merch and I leave concerts with a two and a half year relationship. But I have really good friends. They don’t judge me for dating these men. They’re actually really supportive,” she cheekily stated.

Joining the monologue, Taylor Swift then appeared on stage, saying, “I’m not your therapist actually. You just show up once a week at my house with an empty bottle of wine and ask if I want some. You flop on my couch and overshare, and every so often I just say, ‘Damn, that’s crazy.’”
