Slow Horses, the hit Apple TV series, has been renewed for an eighth season following the spy thriller's Emmy win for Outstanding Directing.
The six-episode Season 8 is adapted from Clown Town, the ninth book in Mick Herron's Slough House series.
Gary Oldman, who was nominated for lead actor in a drama series at the 2026 Emmys, will return as Jackson Lamb.
According to its synopsis, Season 8 of Slow Horses will "sees Jackson Lamb and Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott Thomas) face off in their most explosive confrontation yet".
Prince William and the Queen 'big fans' of 'Slow Horses'
The exciting news also came after Gary revealed in a podcast interview that Prince William and Queen Camilla are "big fans" of the series.
Gary said that Camilla had asked when the Apple TV+ spy thriller would be returning, while the Prince told him that he wanted to give him "a good wash" every time he appeared on screen as Jackson Lamb.
Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the 68-year-old said, "Actually, royals, yes, I know that Camilla, the Queen, is a big fan because, well, I've run into her a couple of times. Like you do, you know. And she said, 'Are there any more? I hope it's coming back, isn't it?'"
"So they're big fans. It's hard to imagine, isn't it? There's sort of one of the Windsors at the palace on their sofa – 'Slow Horses is nearly on.'"
The sixth instalment of Slow Horses is set to premiere on Apple TV on Wednesday, and a Season 7 renewal was announced last year.
Notably, Gary Oldman was officially knighted on September 30, 2025, during an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle by Prince William on behalf of King Charles.
