Dolly Alderton's adaptation of Pride and Prejudice is just a few months away from its grand release.
On Tuesday, September 15th, Netflix has unveiled the first look at Dolly Alderton's adaptation and fans just cannot wait to witness the period drama and romantic comedy.
The first photos have been released at the Jane Austen Festival in Bath, with the surprise announcement regarding the release of the series.

Notably, the first look images feature Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet, Jack Lowden as Mr Darcy, Olivia Colman as Mrs Bennet, Rufus Sewell as Mr Bennet, and Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet.
Daryl McCormack as Mr Bingley, Jamie Demetriou as Mr Collins, Louis Partridge as Mr Wickham, Rhea Norwood as Lydia Bennet, Hopey Parish as Mary Bennet and Hollie Avery as Kitty Bennet.
What is Pride and Prejudice about?
According to the plot, shared by Netflix Tudum, the new six-part series is about when a wealthy bachelor arrives in their neighbourhood, the five Bennet sisters must navigate love, family, and society’s expectations to secure their futures.
Jane (Freya Mavor) falls for the charming Mr Bingley (Daryl McCormack), while Elizabeth (Corrin) clashes with Bingley’s proud friend Mr Darcy (Lowden).
Unexpected encounters and family scandals force Elizabeth to reconsider her feelings and discover the true nature of love.
Dolly Alderton breaks silence on Pride and Prejudice's new series
Speaking about the new show, the writer – who also serves as an executive producer- referred to the Austen "easter eggs" she has included in the adaptation.
"There are a few things in the show that I have planted; I read everything there is left of Jane’s letters, and I tried to include any moments of that into Lizzy’s dialogue that I felt aligned with Lizzy. I really drew on the richness of biography in the Jane and Lizzy sisterhood between Jane and Cassandra," she said.
Pride and Prejudice is slated to be released on December 4th, 2026.
