The Philadelphia Eagles improved to 2-0 on the season after Quarterback Jalen Hurts led a dramatic late-game rally, securing a 24-20 road victory over the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium.
The game-winning drive
Trailing 20-17 with under two minutes remaining and no timeouts left, Hurts engineered a clinical nine-play, 65-yard drive. Key completions to receiver DeVonta Smith set the offense up on the doorstep of the end zone.
With just nine seconds left on the clock, Hurts rolled to his right and lofted a precise 3-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Darius Cooper to snatch the lead back.
Fighting through adversity
The win did not come easily for Philadelphia, as the offense had to overcome key early injuries and two interceptions from Hurts.
Star running back Saquon Barkley temporarily exited in the first quarter due to a shoulder stinger, while tight end Dallas Goedert left early with a knee injury.
Despite these setbacks, DeVonta Smith stepped up big, leading the receiving corps with 10 catches for 117 yards and a touchdown.
Defensive stand seals victory
Tennessee put up a strong effort behind rookie quarterback Cam Ward, who scored two rushing touchdowns to keep the Titans ahead for much of the second half.
However, a key goal-line sack by defensive tackle Jalen Carter forced Tennessee to settle for a field goal late in the fourth quarter opening the door for Hurts’ game-winning heroics.
With the win, Philadelphia stays undefeated at 2-0, while the Titans drop to 0-2.
