Dolly Parton’s nephew Bryan Seaver has been hit with another setback following his aunt’s death.
On Monday, September 21, TMZ reported that the legendary country singer’s nephew, who had been providing security for her properties for more than two decades, was abruptly fired from his job nearly a month after Parton’s death.
Seaver, who was the first to announce about the Jolene hitmaker’s death last month, was dismissed from his position, with the outlet sharing that he received a termination notice on Wednesday, September 16.
The notice informed him that he and his security companied had been immediately removed from their roles, adding that Parton’s properties and business affairs are managed by the DP Dean Trust.
It also clarified that Seaver’s personal interest in the trust would remain unchanged.
TMZ further reported replacement guards have already taken over both Parton's Nashville homes, her museum and warehouse.
While the exact reason for his dismissal has not been explained publicly, it comes amid a dispute over the management of Dolly Parton’s estate.
Breaking silence on the termination, Bryan Seaver told the outlet that he and his teams were "dismayed by the unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions” taken by the 9 to 5 singer’s longtime manager Danny Nozell and Pinnacle Bank, who oversee DP Dean Trust.
The statement added, "We remain unshakably resolved to fulfill her final directive to protect her family, and we refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much."
