Chris Hansen has broken his silence after the release of Robert Pattinson’s Primetime.
Shortly after Primetime hit cinemas on Friday, September 25, Hansen, on whom the film is based, shared his brutal response to the project and Pattinson, who portrays the TV presenter in the movie.
On the latest episode of his podcast Have a Seat, with Fox News host Jesse Watters interviewing him, Hansen criticized that the A24 movie “missed the mark entirely.”
When Watters questioned if the movie captured any of his humor, the 67-year-old lashed out, “None of my humor. This guy was so detached. This version of Chris Hansen, played by Robert Pattinson, was so detached, so unhinged, so dark, so unlikable.”
The veteran TV host shared that the portrayal had upset both his former and current colleagues.
He also noted that his current team even went to watch the movie together, with around 14 members attending, and they later shared their opinions through text messages.
Hansen then read one of the texts loudly, “We thought some of the film work was good, interesting. The videography was interesting. The use of greens and reds and blues was interesting. But in terms of a story, we got bored after the first 30 minutes.”
“If you’re a fan of A24, if you’re a fan of Robert Pattinson, make up your own mind, go see it. Realize that when you do go see it that it is absolutely a fictional portrayal of me, of my colleagues, of the series, and of the very hard, diligent enterprise work that we did then and do now,” he slammed.
