Kim Kardashian has inherited a generational disease, she revealed recently.
The promo teaser of the most-watched Hulu reality show, The Kardashians, premiered on September 17th and shows the shocking health update shared by the SKIMS founder.
Kim, 45, opened up about the diagnosis of esophagitis in the season 8 trailer of the upcoming show, and how it is emotionally affecting her.
What is esophagitis?
Esophagitis is a medical condition which involves inflammation, irritation, or swelling of the oesophagus lining, the muscular tube that carries food and liquids from your mouth to your stomach.
How did she inherited the disease?
The disease carried extra emotional weight for the businesswoman because her late father, Robert Kardashian, died from oesophageal cancer in 2003.
Notably, the family history and the situation made her weak and emotionally dependent on her close ones.

Her serious health scare also brought her even closer to her current love interest, Lewis Hamilton, who is reportedly helping her maintain a healthy lifestyle.
"Kim is going to be okay, but it was very scary because it involved her oesophagus," the insider disclosed before sharing that "her emotions were very, very high."
The source close to the couple also revealed that Lewis, 41, "brought her food."
But when he was not around her girlfriend, the Formula 1 star proved to be the best boyfriend by making sure to always check up on him.
However, this gesture left Kim "more in love with him" even after making their relationship official through several public appearances and outings.
