Alia Bhatt has previously opened up about living with a rare health condition, putting a spotlight on an issue that many people may know little about.
When did Alia Bhatt first reveal about her condition?
In March 2025, the Alpha star revealed that she suffers from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), which affects her ability to concentrate on tasks for extended periods.
Speaking on Jay Shetty's podcast, she shared, "I was recently clinically diagnosed with it (anxiety). I had a proper backing for me to not just say I am just having an anxious day, it's not just that. ADHD and anxiety."
"I was finding it very hard. My body was heating up at social gatherings and I was physically responding to it. I was also finding it hard to focus on certain things," Bhatt added.
She mentioned, "So, I took a professional test over three days, not just a random personality quiz, and I was diagnosed with ADHD and anxiety. Strangely, I felt happy because my ADHD diagnosis gave me information. Lack of information is what throws me off the most, and I'm always seeking clarity and comfort. I'm very averse to change. But once I became aware of these things, dealing with them became much simpler."
"I am not on any medication or anything although I can be but I chose not to and I am just actively working on it to help get through it. And I think I manage pretty well," the Raazi actress said.
How Alia Bhatt manages her ADHD
She has said she feels most calm and focused while acting on set or spending time with her daughter, Raha.
Bhatt has also spoken about managing ADHD and anxiety without medication, instead using structured routines, mindfulness, exercise and talk therapy.
What is ADHD? Symptoms and treatment
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects an individual's executive functions, including focus, emotional regulation, and impulse control.
While often diagnosed in childhood, many adults remain undiagnosed until later in life when the demands of work, relationships, and daily structures increase.
ADHD symptoms generally include inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity. They can involve difficulty focusing, forgetfulness, restlessness, racing thoughts, interrupting others and making impulsive decisions.
The management can include medication, therapy and practical strategies. Stimulant and non-stimulant medicines may help with focus, while CBT and ADHD coaching can support organization and time management.
Daily techniques such as body doubling, breaking tasks into smaller steps and using visual reminders can also help.
