Joe Jonas proved skincare isn't just a women's thing!
The Jonas Brothers bandmate has recently reflected on his journey to transform his skin after experiencing a terrible breakout.
In a lengthy conversation with PEOPLE, Joe revealed that he has become a new global ambassador for Kenneth Cole's men's fragrance, Inspire.
For the unversed, Inspire Eau de Toilette is a woody aromatic scent with bergamot, cedarwood, and amber.
Notably, the actor also helped shape the campaign, which uses parody and humour to mock traditional perfume advertising.
Breaking stereotype
The father of two shared inside details of how he realized that the skincare routine is not just for women, but it is as crucial for men as for women.
"I used to think my skin was just fine by washing my face at night, until I started to learn [that] skin care is really key," Sophie Turner's former boyfriend added.
He also shared his initial struggles with the brand-new skincare products, and the way his skin responded gradually.
"I started breaking out quite a bit. I couldn’t figure it out. There [were] little things that I think that I probably used too much of or too fast, so I'm trying to slow down," the Camp Rock star noted.
Joe Jonas's skincare journey
In his old interview, Joe admitted that he is using beauty products to enhance his glowing skin and overcome the anti-ageing crisis.
"I don't think it's necessarily something that we have to shy away from; we can be open and honest about it and be confident and not really shy away from speaking our truth," the American singer-turned-actor remarked.
At the time, he also jokingly shared that the way to cause a disagreement between himself and siblings, his two brothers, Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas are by them borrowing each other’s products.
Joe Jonas's pocket-friendly skincare routine
So far, Joe Jonas's skincare routine relies on a less-is-more philosophy, focusing on consistent habits, affordable drugstore gems, and an entirely free wellness hack.
After dealing with a major breakout flare-up, Joe shifted his mindset from using too many intense products too fast to a deliberately slowed-down, minimalist routine.
Joe Jonas and his two brothers are currently on the Jonas Brothers' The Burning Up Tour All Over Again, which concludes in December in New Jersey.
