Ben Affleck is garnering significant attraction across social media not only as an actor and filmmaker but also as an AI entrepreneur.
The Gone Girl star has embraced artificial intelligence in filmmaking, while insisting that the technology should support human creativity instead of replacing it.
His AI venture InterPositive was purchased by Netflix earlier this year, while Affleck has now revealed that AI was used in his forthcoming movie Animals.
1. Ben Affleck used AI in 'Animals'
Affleck recently revealed that he used AI for “lots of things” during the production of Animals, his forthcoming Netflix thriller.
However, he has remained hesitant to explain exactly where the technology was used, stating that revealing too much could spoil the movie’s illusion.
2. He founded an AI filmmaking company
Affleck founded InterPositive in 2022 after becoming interested in how AI could transform film production.
The company developed AI-powered features specifically designed for filmmakers and post-production work.
3. Netflix bought InterPositive
Netflix announced its acquisition of InterPositive in March 2026, bringing the company’s team into the streaming giant.
Notably, the Oscar-winning star also joined Netflix as a senior adviser. The deal was later revealed to be worth approximately $587 million in cash.
4. The technology is designed to assist filmmakers
Interpositive’s features are primarily focused on practical filmmaking challenges, including missing shots, background replacements, lighting adjustments and maintaining visual consistency during post-production.
5. Affleck Wants AI to keep storytelling human
Affleck has underscored that human judgment remains central to filmmaking. His approach reflects an increasing Hollywood debate over whether AI should be used as a creative replacement or as another production tool.
