Singer Lily Allen has abruptly called off her Auckland concert in New Zealand after falling ill with a viral infection, sparking disappointment among fans just hours ahead of performance on October 21.

The Not Fair artist announced the cancellation via her Instagram Story, apologising to fans who had planned to attend the show.

“To my West End Girls in Auckland, I am so sorry to have to tell you that I have come down with a viral infection and am unable to perform tonight.”

She assured ticket holders that they would receive refunds and apologised to those who had travelled to see her.

Allen stated she had been looking forward to meeting her fans and hoped to return to New Zealand in the future.

It is pertinent to mention Allen's next concert in Brisbane, Australia, is scheduled along with five extra Australian dates planned to end her 2026 world tour.

The cancellation comes as Allen continues promoting her album West End Girl, launched in October 2025.

The record was inspired by experiences surrounding her separation from actor David Harbour after four years of marriage.

The album generated widespread speculation regarding their relationship, with multiple songs referencing infidelity. However, Allen has cautioned listeners against interpreting every lyric as a literal account of events.

In an interview with British Vogue around the album’s release, the Smile crooner has cautioned listeners against interpreting every lyric as a literal account of events.

Harbour later told Variety that he respected Allen’s decision to channel her personal experiences into art, stating, “It was weird. I do believe that it is the privilege of every artist to use their experience to create art, and so I respect her for doing that.”

Despite the Auckland cancellation, fans are hoping Allen will recover in time to complete the remaining dates of her tour.
