Princess Kate has a brutal reality check for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after their first-ever joint public appearance in the UK raised eyebrows.
On Thursday, October 15, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out for their first public visit to Nottingham since moving back to Cotswold in August.
Their joint tour to the city – which they last visited in 2017, just four days after their engagement, garnered surprisingly positive response from the general public gathered to greet and welcome the Sussexes back home.
As per the videos and photos, Meghan – who has always faced strict media scrutiny in the UK, was visibly emotional when people from the crowd extend their support to the Duchess.
Despite Harry and Meghan’s first major triumph in the UK, Kate and William are believed to be very “furious” as they believe that The Duke and Duchess have gone “too far” with their faux-Royal tour.
A source told Closer that Kate wants Meghan to understand that she just can’t make all these performative appearances alongside Harry without any remorse for the damage they caused to the Royal Family since stepping down from their duties in 2020.
“The message Kate wants Meghan to hear could be very simple – you can’t have it both ways,” noted the insider.
They continued, “You can’t publicly criticise the family, walk away from royal responsibilities and then expect everybody to welcome you back without addressing what’s happened. Kate isn’t saying reconciliation is impossible.”
“She’s kept quiet for years, but that doesn’t mean she’s prepared to keep doing so indefinitely,” added the source.
