Ice Spice is dispelling the rumors on her relationship with Nicki Minaj!
Earlier this year, a series of text messages from the Deli rapper to a former close friend leaked online where she called Minaj “ungrateful” and “delusional,” revealing the frustration and complaints she encountered during contract negotiation with Minaj over their Barbie soundtrack.
In her cover story interview with Rolling Stone, the Pretty Girl rapper told that she and Minaj are “not close” but remain on “good terms.”
“We don’t have the closest relationship, you know? But we’re definitely good. We’re mutuals. We had smash records together. I love us together. I think the world does too,” revealed Ice Spice to the outlet.
Turning her attention to the former friend, she said, “I think that the saddest part of the whole situation, it's somebody I knew for so many years and called my friend, had me open up and be vulnerable with them, and then took complete advantage of that for her own benefit.”
“So that was the saddest part really, just feeling used, basically,” the rapper added.
Speaking of her thoughts about the Chun Li rapper, Ice expressed, “She's busy as hell. I don't really think she cares about sh** like that coming from a random girl.”
“But what I said in those texts was just in a moment of frustration around contract negotiations. I could have [chosen] different words,” she further clarified.
To put it briefly, Ice praised the Everybody rapper as “somebody I respect as an artist,” adding that she is always going to “admire” everything Minaj has done for her and the culture.
