The In da Club rapper 50 Cent made rare confession about his 2022 Super Bowl performance after nearly two years of the music event.
In his cover story interview for The Hollywood Reporter, 50 Cent revealed that his Superbowl surprise performance at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on February 13, 2022 was almost called off.
The TV producer claimed that JAY-Z’s entertainment company Roc Nation did not want him to make an appearance to the half time performance, which also included Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre, and Kendrick Lamar.
"They wanted to leave me out of it... [Roc Nation] didn't want me there," 50 Cent told the publication.
However, as per the rapper, his close pal Eminem saved the day for him and made Cent’s performance possible.
"Eminem wouldn't do it without me," 50 Cent shared.
"That's how I ended up on the show, because he was not coming if I didn't do it. When that happens, you go, 'Damn, so you just lost Eminem because you didn't bring 50? Damn. All right. Bring 50 then.' But if it was up to them, they would not have me there,” he added.
50 Cent, further clarified that this was the reason he became "the surprise" at the event and why he was "not on the bill."
