Sonakshi Sinha may be a millennial by age, but she’s Gen Z at heart.
Indian Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from his position on Saturday, July 25, following a weeks-long nationwide protests by students over irregularities in entrance tests and paper leak in the 2026 NEET-UG.
Shortly after the major news made it to the headlines, Indian actress Sonakshi Sinha – who had been supporting the youth since the beginning of their campaign – took to Instagram to celebrate the momentous victory.
In her post, the Dabangg star expressed pride in Gen Z, the driving force behind the widespread demonstrations.
For those unfamiliar, Gen Z, also known as Generation Z and Zoomers, is a group of people born between 1997 and 2012. They come after the Millennials (born between 1981 and 1996) and before Generation Alpha (born between 2010 and 2025).
“Sorry what i meant to say was that i’m proud of you and THANK YOU. Brb now… millenial sathiya gayi hai. 25.07.2026. What a day!!!” she penned in the caption.
Accompanying the message was a video, showing the actress visibly thrilled as she said, “Brother, you have no idea what you’ve achieved today. I’m an artist, bro, but Gen Z is the art. You know, I used to underestimate Gen Z.”
“I’d think, ‘They just do things on a whim, get tired, and nothing really comes of it.’ But I take my hat off to you for this. Salute! Look at me now—I want to be you; I want to be Gen Z. What have you all done? It’s unbelievable,” added the Rowdy Rathore actress as she did sit-ups to apologize.
