An Iranian news agency with close links to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) published a disturbing video encouraging attacks against U.S. First Lady Melania Trump.
The media outlet, Tasnim, released the Farsi-language clip detailing potential plans and public locations to execute an assassination.
Details of proposed plot
The video highlights the First Lady’s daily routines and shopping habits, claiming “her fondness for fashion has become her greatest weakness.” It lists high-end Manhattan department stores she frequents, suggesting these public spots are “suitable for operations by global freedom fighters.”
The clip goes so far as to suggest bribing her stylist to poison her clothing using a lethal nerve agent. A narrator claims that “the documents used in this video are the result of extracting information from several anonymous security networks and satellite images”, though security experts note the footage relies almost entirely on public information.
Direct warning to Barron Trump
Along with targeting Melania, the recording ends with an explicit message aimed directly at President Donald Trump’s 20-year-old son, Barron. At the end of the broadcast, a narrator issues a chilling threat: “This is just the beginning; Barron Trump, wait for us!”
The video comes alongside aggressive billboards popping up across Tehran displaying blood-stained imagery of the Trump family.
U.S. Secret Service responds
Federal authorities in Washington confirmed they are actively evaluating the broadcast and its potential risks. Addressing the clip, an agency representative confirmed, “The Secret Service is aware of the video and investigates anything that can be perceived as a threat toward our protectees,” emphasizing that security details for the First Family remain fully engaged.
