Christina Applegate has returned home after four months of hospital stay.
The Bad Moms starlet is reportedly recovering from her brief battle with chronic illness, multiple sclerosis, People reported on Monday, August 7th.
Insiders close to the popular American actress revealed that after receiving treatment for nearly four months, Applegate has finally marked a positive step in her ongoing health journey.
"She is doing very well," the tipster confirmed about the artist’s health.
Despite being returned to her home, it remains unclear whether her stay was directly related to her battle with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Brief battle with chronic illness
This update came nearly four months after Applegate initially addressed reports of her hospitalisation in April following the release of her bombshell memoir, You With the Sad Eyes.
In her statement, the retired American actress kept the details of her disease secret, while thanking fans for showering love during the tough phase of her life.
"Thank you for the outpouring of love and well wishes. Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick, and I’m getting stronger and better every day," Applegate noted.
She went on to share, "I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough."
For those unaware, despite keeping her illness secret, her diagnosis with multiple sclerosis came to light in 2021.
The progressive disease damages the protective cover around nerves called myelin in your central nervous system, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
In an old interview, Christina Applegate candidly discusses her symptoms, saying, "This is the worst thing I’ve ever had in my life; it’s the worst thing I’ve ever gone through."
Before her retirement, the actress' final on-screen acting project was the third and final season of the dark comedy series Dead to Me, which premiered on Netflix from 2019 to 2022.
