Kiara Advani has broken her silence in a graceful move after receiving immense online heat over bold scenes in her new film Toxic.
Taking to her Instagram account on Wednesday, August 19th, to finally address why she chose the movie, which has "opened" chances of growth in terms of acting.
Sharing rare behind-the-scenes from her thriller film - which marked her first Bollywood venture after welcoming her daughter Saraayah Malhotra with her life partner, Sidharth Malhotra, in July last year.
In the new picture, Kiara is seen posing for a camera while half of her body is dipped into water placed in a large vessel, showing off the intense filming.
"Films have a beautiful way of making us step into worlds we’ve never known, sometimes quite literally," the mom of one added.
She continued explaining, "Every new character, every new set, every crazy challenge teaches you something you didn’t know you were capable of."
"This one taught me to be comfortable with the unfamiliar, to stay curious, to keep learning and to find joy in the adventure of it all," the Shershaah actress added.
Kabir Singh starlet further noted that “growth” has always been her priority, and due to this, she said yes to Toxic due to its unique plot.
"Because growth, for me, has always been about saying yes to the things that scare you a little and loving the journey that follows," before defending her bold scenes, she said, "Here’s to new skills, new adventures, and the kind of passion that keeps you willing to dive in again and again!"
Why Kiara Advani faces backalsh?
It is important to note that Kiara Advani faced online criticism and trolling over bold and intimate sequences with co-star Yash in her film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups.
Critics on social media questioned her choice of roles based on her marriage and motherhood, while supporters and commentators highlighted a double standard since her male co-star faced no similar scrutiny. She also dismissed false rumours claiming she had asked the makers to edit out the scenes.
Toxic is set to release on August 26, 2026.
