Queen Camilla’s charity has issued a heartfelt message on the same day Prince Harry and Meghan Markle landed in the UK with kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
On Tuesday, August 26, the official Instagram account of the Queen’s Reading Room shared a gushing tribute for the legendary singer and songwriter, Dolly Parton, who passed away at 80 a day prior.
The message shared by Queen’s Reading Room read, “Today we remember and celebrate the unwavering advocate for the joy and importance of reading Parton. the icon, Dolly”
Highlighting the Jolene singer’s moving gesture for the charity, the message added, “Dolly once said, You can never get enough books into the hands of enough children'... but she gave it a pretty good go, donating more than 300 million books over 30+ years through her Imagination Library.”
Before concluding the message – which was shared on behalf of the Queen, the charity noted, “By putting so many books into the hands of so many children, she gave the most precious of gifts: the chance to millions of young minds of opening the door to imagination, possibility and a lifelong love of reading. Thank you, Dolly!
Camilla’s charity, The Queen’s Reading Room – which initially started as an Instagram book club in January 2021 during the COVID-19 lockdown, became an official registered charity in February 2023.

Harry and Meghan touched down in the UK at the same time, Royal Family's Instagram account shared video of a special from Buckingham Palace honouring late Dolly Parton.
The video featured a musical tribute for the renowned musician by King's guards in their traditional red tunics and bearskin hats in Buckingham Palace grounds.
"Remembering the late, great Dolly, who brought joy, comfort and inspiration to so many - including the millions of children given free books through her Imagination Library. We will always you," read the caption.
