The sports world is deeply concerned about former NBA player and 2010 NCAA national champion Kyle Singler after he posted a series of troubling social media videos.
The former Duke star made serious accusations and asked for urgent help leading to widespread worries about his mental health.
Direct accusations against coach K
In these alarming videos, Singler speaks directly to his former Duke coach, Mike Krzyzewski. The former forward claims he is locked inside his home and being targeted by others.
“Coach K has set me up. Set me up, man,” Singler states in his video. “I’ve reached out to Coach and everybody has turned the other way. I’ve reached out to Coach and he has fully dismissed the message.”
Claims of financial and personal abuse
Singler expands his claims alleging that people are taking his money and restricting his freedom. “You guys are cutting my power off, breaking into my house, stealing money, ruining my life,” Singler says.
He pleads again to his former coach, stating, “Coach, I need your help. Help, man. I’m stuck at my house and I can’t leave. I feel imprisoned.”
Outpouring support across basketball
These claims are unverified but they highlight a growing mental health crisis for the 36-year-old. Singler previously posted troubling videos expressing fear for his life which led the NBA Player Association to contact his family.
The basketball community continues to call for immediate assistance to protect his well-being.
