Orlando Bloom has made an abrupt exit from Priyanka Chopra's upcoming film, Reset.
On Wednesday, August 26th, media reports claimed that the Pirates of the Caribbean star has been dropped from the new movie, which he was also producing alongside Nick Jonas's wife.
An insider close to the production team has revealed that the decision was taken just a few days before the cameras were about to roll.
Bloom's alleged decision has cast doubt on the production's future because the independent project was financed based on his and Chopra's star casting.
Now, the Baywatch starlet is eyeing a major replacement, so the production can stay on schedule without causing any delay.
It is pertinent to note that Priyanka Chopra is also serving as the producer for Reset.
However, the actor – who was attached to play the male lead opposite the actress has not disclosed the reason behind his departure.
The forthcoming movie is written by Jordan Rawlins and is directed by Matt Smukler.
What is Reset about?
Notably, the plot of the film follows Chopra’s character after she wakes up alone in the wilderness with no memory of how she arrived there.
She is forced to rely on a mysterious stranger for survival, though his true intentions remain uncertain.
The name of her character has been kept a secret to hook the curiosity among fans.
Speaking about the film, the creator of the movie said that Priyanka Chopra and Orlando Bloom were cast, describing the pair as one where attraction and mistrust could exist naturally at the same time.
The casting of the two actors had been announced in May through a Deadline article.
However, according to IMDb, the movie is now being directed by James Madigan, best known for the 2024 action movie Fight or Flight.
