The Green Bay Packers are actively getting ready for the possibility that star running back Josh Jacobs could face a league discipline. Following his arrest earlier this offseason on domestic abuse charges, the NFL has been reviewing the incident under its personal conduct policy.
Management plans for the worst
While no official league decision has been handed down yet, General Manager Brian Gutekunst publicly confirmed the front office has built a contingency plan.
Addressing reporters about the team’s backfield depth, Gutekunst insisted, “I’m pretty confident we can sustain it,” adding, “We’ll deal with that when that comes. But we’ve obviously been prepared for that in case that happens.”
Confidence in remaining depth
Despite losing a premier player for any period, the team remains upbeat about their remaining talent. Gutekunst expressed strong faith in the existing roster reassuring fans by stating:
“At the same time, I feel really good about the guys we got in that room and I think we can survive that and kill it.” Younger backups like MarShawn Lloyd are expected to take on large responsibilities if discipline occurs.
