Beyoncé has unknowingly broken Meghan Markle's heart during pop icon's London visit.
The Duchess of Sussex - who moved back to the UK only last month is believed to be "hurt" by the Crazy In Love hitmaker's unexpected blow by dashing "reunion" hopes.
A well-placed source has lift the curtain on Meghan's true feelings as Beyoncé - whom the Duchess considers her "genuine friend", failed to plan a meet up despite being in London for Jay-Z's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium shows.
An insider told, “Meghan didn’t expect Beyoncé to roll out a red carpet.”
They continued, “But she absolutely assumed they would have tea, lunch or spend some private time together. When nothing happened, it stung.”
Given the ties between Meghan and Beyoncé' - who famously greeted Harry's wife as “my princess” when she met her at The Lion King premiere in London in 2019, the source noted, “Meghan believed their connection had moved beyond Hollywood niceties.”
“She thought Beyoncé was someone she could consider a genuine friend. Being in the same country and not seeing each other forced Meghan to question that,” added the insider.
“That’s what hurt, Meghan didn’t want another Beyoncé concert. She wanted Beyoncé,” the source claimed.
