Prince Harry's return to the UK has met with another shocking setback, as one of the 26 countries involved in the Invictus Games made a major decision about its participation.
No 'Harry-Meghan nonsense'
On Wednesday, September 8, Uganda's military chief revealed that the country will pull out of the Invictus Games due to "that Harry-Meghan nonsense".
The Duke of Sussex founded the games as an international sport event for wounded and sick armed forces personnel.
General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the head of Uganda's armed forces and the President's son, announced the surprise decision in a social media post on Wednesday.
On X, he wrote, "In order not to be construed as being opposed to His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom, whom we deeply revere, Uganda hereby withdraws from the Invictus Games. We shall not participate in anything that does not have His Majesty's approval."

Uganda makes decision in support of King Charles
Talking to The Times, General Kainerugaba said that he made the decision to withdraw Uganda from the Invictus Games due to his support for King Charles.
He said, "I have factions in the Ministry of Defence that support that Harry-Meghan nonsense. I had to quash it straight away. I support the monarch. Period."
The announcement came just two months after Uganda shared that it would be the 26th nation to join the Invictus Community and participate in the 2027 event in Birmingham.
Prince Harry blindsided by King Charles' letter
Uganda's decision also comes as King Charles made Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's position in the UK clear amid their surprising return.
This week the monarch said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are "akin to private citizens" and would not be taking back their roles as working royals, reportedly blindsiding the couple.
The Sussexes were "surprised" by the King's bombshell letter, as a spokesperson for the couple noted, "We were a little surprised not to have been told about this [the letter] in advance.'
Notably, next year's edition of the Invictus Games will run from July 10 to July 17.
