Dylan Wang takes legal action as bizarre medical procedure claims go viral

Dylan Wang and his team have broken their silence after bizarre posts about a medical procedure on Chinese social media went viral.

A post claimed that a popular male celebrity suffered a blockage after "having hyaluronic acid injected into his penis last month".

The viral post was quickly linked to Dylan Wang, prompting his label to issue a statement amid online campaign against the actor.

"Recently, our studio discovered that certain individuals online had maliciously fabricated false chat records concerning Mr Wang Hedi and were wantonly circulating and disseminating them through private channels and various social media platforms, deliberately smearing and defaming him. This has seriously damaged Mr Wang Hedi's personal reputation and caused a severe negative impact online."

The studio shared that they have collected the false posts and reported it to authorities, adding, "At the same time, our studio has commissioned a legal team to handle this infringement case in full. We will pursue legal responsibility against those responsible for fabricating and spreading the rumours in accordance with the law, and firmly safeguard Mr Wang Hedi's legitimate rights and interests."

"The internet is not beyond the reach of the law. Please do not casually spread false information. We hope everyone will use the internet rationally and work together to maintain a clean and healthy online environment," the statement concluded.

Following the viral posts, fans of the actor called out the "routine" rumours Dylan faces when his drama is about to air, as one fan added, "when he's rumoured to be attached to a new project, there will be extremely vile, vicious smear campaigns or fake "exposés" against him on Chinese social media."

Dylan, who made his official debut in 2018, is set to star in Live Long and Prosper, a Chinese fantasy cultivation drama, alongside Li Qin.

Moreover, the hospital at the centre of the speculations also came out to share that Dylan has no connection to the medical incident being circulated online

Dylan Wang's career

Born in 1998, Dylan Wang is a Chinese actor and singer. He entered the entertainment industry in 2017 after winning the reality show Super Dimension Idol, and rose to prominence the following year with his role in the Chinese version of Meteor Garden. 

In 2022, he garnered more fame and attention for his work in The Legend of Canglan.
