Sydney Sweeney has once again commanded attention with her bizarre advertisement campaign!
As the Euphoria actress barely recovered from intense backlash from her Novig ad controversy, she has returned with another daring advertisement campaign which now involves Taylor Momsen and Macaulay Culkin.
To promote her upcoming holiday pieces for her lingerie brand, Syrn, Sweeney recreated Taylor Momsen's role as Cindy Lou from How the Grinch Stole Christmas! and Macaulay Culkin's Kevin McCallister from Home Alone.
Fans' reaction over Sydney Sweeney's backlash
However, the portrayals of fans' beloved childhood characters to promote her lingerie brand were labelled as "extremely disturbing."
"That's just not normal; Cindy is barely 12 years old in the film," one user bashed.
Another criticised, "I don't know how to explain this. She looks like those stereotypical nerds who glowed up, like in movies."
"Cindy Lou is a child, come on," a third defended Taylor as Cindy.
While a fourth Reddit user added, "Dressing up as Kevin from Home Alone in a lingerie ad is certainly a choice."
Sydney Sweeney's novig ad campaign
This is not the first time Sydney Sweeney triggered backlash, as she appeared to be unbothered by the haters, who previously mocked her over her inappropriate fashion choices to support women in a Novig sports ad.
At the time, she went all without clothes to promote the brand, sparking worldwide backlash and criticism.
The campaign was launched in September 2026; the initial "Just Sports" commercials and print ads feature Sweeney mostly or completely nude, using sports gear—such as American footballs, basketballs, and hockey pads—strategically to cover herself.
In the advertisement, Sydney Sweeney pitches Novig as a clean alternative to other prediction markets, contrasting sports trading with betting on non-sports events like political races, celebrity deaths, or wars.
However, in October, Novig and Sweeney released a second provocative ad (titled "No BS") in which Sweeney wears a white Novig undergarment and footballs while mocking bizarre online betting trends.
So far, the Anyone But You actress has not reacted to the backlash.
