Lena Dunham and her husband, Luis Felber, have welcomed a sweet addition to their little family!
The Girls creator and her husband have become parents to a daughter, whom they welcomed via surrogate.
Dunham announced the exciting news in a Wednesday, September 16, op-ed in Vogue.
As reported by Page Six, the pair is currently in the US and are soon planning to head back to North London, where Felber is from.
Dunham and Felber tied the knot in September 2021, with the actress confirming the wedding date on her Instagram a few days after the official ceremony.
Lena Dunham on health concerns and motherhood
In the past, Dunham has opened up about medical issues with her reproductive system and how her journey to parenthood could look a little different than she expected.
Throughout her memoir Famesick, Dunham highlighted her struggle about her health and wrote about when she asked doctors for a hysterectomy because of the intense pain from her endometriosis.
During an April interview with Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones on Today with Jenna and Sheinelle, the writer recalled being with her mother on the day she asked for the procedure, saying her "full support" made things "so much clearer to me".
"It's interesting because the framing is that you make a choice to do this, but if you're in pain 24 hours a day, it isn't really a choice because no one can live like that," Dunham explained at the time.
She added, "And what breaks my heart is there are so many people who are living like that because the delay to diagnosis for endometriosis averages 10 years."
In July 2025, Dunham told The Times that she was in the process of "expanding" her family with Felber.
During the conversation, the actress called her hysterectomy a "relief", adding that she just wanted to "safely" meet their children.
