Shakira and Maluma set the internet on fire with their new steamy song, Agua's music video.

On Thursday, September 17th, the Hips Don't Lie hitmaker and the Canadian rapper released the sensual music video of their collaborative rendition, whose promo has garnered 17.4 million views on Instagram in just a few hours of its release.

"WATER is already in the streets. Another one for the story!!!" Maluma wrote over the video, shared in a joint post with Shakira.

The song is produced with a contemporary tropical edge; "Agua", which is a Spanish word meaning water, blends Caribbean-rooted rhythm with sleek pop production, creating a soundtrack for surrendering to attraction.

Notably, the racy music video is directed by Hannah Lux Davis and builds a glossy, tropical world around the song's central metaphor.

Maluma and Shakira's previous songs

This is not the first collaboration between Shakira and Maluma; the two previously worked together on a major duet, Clandestino, released in 2018.

According to the record, the two major musicians also worked together on songs, including Chantaje, Trap, and El Dorado.

The song was announced by the rap icon on TikTok earlier this month, sharing snippets of its merengue-influenced sound without initially revealing his collaborator.

Surprise announcement of Shakira

Agua came as a double celebration for the fans, as Shakira has released the song and also revealed the venue and date of her upcoming musical shows.

The Waka Waka crooner is preparing to begin the final stretch of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, with a 12-show Madrid residency beginning September 18th.
