Travis Kelce has opened up about his 37th birthday celebration with wife Taylor Swift. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end shared details on the latest episode of the “New Heights” podcast with his brother Jason.
Birthday dinner at favorite NYC spot
On Monday, October 5, the newlyweds headed to Torrisi, an upscale Italian restaurant in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood. It was Kelce’s first birthday as a married man after their wedding at Madison Square Garden in July.
The couple arrived hand-in-hand and coordinated in dark outfits. Swift wore a black lace-trimmed dress under a leather jacket, while Kelce chose a cardigan over a white T-shirt with dark trousers.
Kelce called Torrisi “one of my favorite spots.” He said the food was good and they had a nice time hanging out. For dessert the restaurant brought out “the entire arsenal.” He especially liked a yogurt option and a unique espresso-and-chocolate treat with shaved espresso icing over ice cream.
Victory Monday made it better
The timing lined up perfectly. The Chiefs beat the Las Vegas Raiders 30-27 the day before, sending them into their Week 5 bye at 4-0. Kelce said the win was the best news of his birthday.
“That was the happiness I had around my birthday,” he explained. He noted a loss would have ruined the day.
Plans for the Chiefs bye week
With no game until October 18 against the Chargers, Kelce used the free time to fly to New York and spend quality days with Swift. He described the outing as a good, fun day filled with well-wishes from fans and friends. The couple has been enjoying their honeymoon phase and nesting with their pets while Swift works on new music.
Kelce’s simple takeaway: good food, time with Tay and a team win heading into rest. Fans loved the low-key, stylish date night that showed the pair still making time for each other amid busy schedules.
