Jeremy Allen White took the internet by storm for his Calvin Klein underwear ad but the journey to that moment was anything but smooth.
During the October 9 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the actor was asked what he did to prepare for his bold advertisement.
Jeremy Allen White reveals secret behind his toned abs
Making a surprising confession, White noted, "I had a stomach bug like three days before."
"How convenient," host Drew Barrymore quipped.
White continued, "I just drank a lot of water and then I showed up. That's the truth and then I ate so much Chinese food when I was done because we were shooting in Chinatown here in the city. It was great."
Barrymore brought up a famous line from the 2006 movie, The Devil Wears Prada, where Emily Blunt's character Emily says she's "one stomach flu away from my goal weight".
White made his Calvin Klein debut in 2024 starring in the spring campaign, where he stripped down to his underwear in photographs taken by Mert Alas.
The Shameless actor, who is often associated with everyday roles, sparked intense buzz as he posed in his Calvin boxers and flaunted his toned abs.
Mental preparation for the Calvin Klein's ad
In a GQ Interview, White shared that the intense fitness training for his portrayal of wrestler Kerry Von Erich in the film The Iron Claw game hi the psychological preparation needed to do the almost-nude ad in NYC.
Meanwhile, his physical training included running, jumping rope, calisthenics, and pushups.
