Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are likely to make only a “handful of joint public appearances” each year after their recent engagements in Nottingham, a source suggested to GBNews.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited three community organisations in the English city on Thursday, October 15, marking their first joint public engagement in the UK since their last appearance in London at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022.
However, the outing should not be viewed as the starting of regular joint appearances, a source told The Telegraph.
“These joint charitable engagements will not be a regular part of their work,” the source stated, adding that the couple might undertake such visits “a handful of times a year perhaps.”
Moreover, the source highlighted the pair's differing priorities, explaining that Harry remains primarily focused on philanthropy and public service, while Meghan’s attention is directed towards her family, business ventures and a possible return to acting.
“Her public appearances will be relatively rare,” the source stated, adding that Meghan is currently reading scripts while balancing her other commitments.
Additionally, the Duchess is working to expand her lifestyle brand, As Ever, into the UK market.
During their Nottingham visit, the couple met young people and community members at the Community Recording Studio, Himmah and Epic Partners, underscoring initiatives focused on youth support and social inclusion.
Unlike their previous appearances as working royals, the engagements were not conducted on behalf of the King and carried no official royal status.
The source underscored that future joint visits would remain occasional instead of routine.
