With their recent return to the UK, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s popularity, which saw a sharp decline when they left the Royal Family, has started increasing, and their latest appearance was the proof of it.
On Thursday, October 15, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who touched down in the United Kingdom for an “extended period” in late August, made their first joint appearance in the country, six years after their royal exit.
The parents of two were all smiles while arriving at The Community Recording Studio in St Ann’s, Nottingham.
In a major surprise, Harry and Meghan, who are set to undertake a series of engagements today, won over the crowds with their appearance as many came out to meet the couple and shower them with love and support.
The Duchess of Sussex was also showered with bouquets of flowers and cries of “I love you!” from the crowds.
Taking to Instagram, royal reporter Rebecca English shared, “The city holds deep personal significance for the Sussexes, as it was the location of their very first joint official engagement back in December 2017 following their engagement announcement.”
At CRS, Harry and Meghan are reportedly scheduled to participate in an acting workshop, after which they will join the women of the Grenfell Hubb Community Kitchen at a local food bank.
Their packed day also includes a meeting with Epic Partners, an organization that backs young people through sport.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s growing popularity in UK
Since their departure from the Royal Family back in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s popularity and ranking saw a massive decline.
However, following their return, the latest YouGov poll for “The Most Popular British Royal Family” showed that the couple’s popularity among public is increasing again.
While the Duke has been ranked 10th with 29% popularity and the Duchess securing the 13th position in the list with only 22% approval rating, their graph is visibly increasing as shown in the poll.
