Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal-style first public engagement in the UK has reportedly “angered” Prince William.
The Prince of Wales – who has been declining King Charles’ demand to have a private one-on-one with his estranged brother, has strongly reacted to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s power show in Nottingham last week.
Per the inside sources, the heir to the throne is not only “furious” over the fact that his brother and Meghan completely defied King’s letter on their “non-working Royal” status, but also tried to one-up the monarch and his wife, Queen Camilla.
On Thursday, October 15, Harry and Meghan visited Nottingham on the same day the King and Queen attended the ceremony of opening the Senedd, or Welsh Parliament – which William believes was a deliberate move from the couple to upstage their majesties event.
“William could not believe what he was seeing,” an insider told New Idea magazine.
They went on to share, “It was the final straw for him. It couldn’t have looked more like an official royal duty if it tried.”
“It was as if they’d totally ignored Charles’ letter. William is furious about it,” claimed the source.
“He would have little hesitation in doing everything in his power to block them,” our source says.
The tipster further explained that “He’s so angry, if he could kick them out of the country right now, he would.”
“There are now intense meetings being held between William and the King’s advisers on how to avoid Harry and Meghan gatecrashing other events or clashing with senior royals’ events,” the source noted.
"Upstaging any other senior royal, by having an event on the same day, is very much not the done thing," they added.
They admitted that "Royal diary clashes are avoided at all costs, but Harry and Meghan totally ignored that rule with their Nottingham stunt."
