Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig are taking the next step in their relationship.
The Melrose Place actor and the attorney are engaged, PEOPLE reports exclusively, with the couple celebrating a new chapter together after finding love and happiness.
“We’re very grateful and hopeful,” he told the outlet in this week’s issue.
After dating for more than three years, they got engaged this past spring.
Shue added, “I don’t know how it happened, but there’s a happy ending.”
Shue has focused on The Forum, a grassroots initiative promoting political dialogue and civic engagement.
Active in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada, it aims to unite Americans through what he calls “a virtual town hall.”
“It’s one thing to work on projects that you think can help people and change the world,” siad the dad of three sons, ages 30, 28 and 23.
He added, “The most important project is your family and building a foundation for your kids and creating a home and showing them a loving relationship they can see and experience.”
So I had to accept my own part in marriage not working out for me and in not understanding myself well enough and not understanding what matters in a relationship well enough to find the right person for me, and that has been an extraordinary gift,” Shue mentioned.
He shared, “Again, I don’t know how it happened, but I can say I’m grateful.”
“I had to grow through a lot of pain and a lot of struggle and a lot of humility,” he said, before adding, “I think the magic of love is when you go from a need to giving.”
Their relationship drew public attention in recent years after their respective spouses, former ABC3 colleagues Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes made headlines in November 2022 over their romantic involvement.
In the months that followed, Shue and Fiebig developed a close friendship that eventually blossomed into romance in an unexpected turn of events.
In another unexpected development, it was revealed just last week that Robach, 53, and Holmes, 49, had quietly married in Arkansas on September 19.
