Real reason behind Kate Middleton’s absence from poignant Royal event earlier this week has come to light.

Just days after turning heads at the State banquet hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla for the Sultan of Oman, Haitham Bin Tariq, Catherine did not join her husband, Prince William for the 60th anniversary of the Aberfan tragedy in Welsh.

William joined the King and Queen to mark the 60 years of the 1966’s tragedy – in which 116 children and 28 adults were killed in the mining village after 150,000 tonnes of coal waste slid down the hillside before swamping Pantglas Junior School.

Although, The Princess of Wales did not join her husband and their majesties, William laid a wreath at Aberfan Memorial Garden with a note in English and Welsh with Kate’s signature, who is known for being a passionate advocate for children.

“In our memory and in our hearts forever,” read the note.

Now, an insider has exclusively confirmed to New Idea magazine that Kate herself chose not to join the senior Royals at the poignant event as a precautionary major to keep her health intact amid cancer remission.

"Kate knows when to bow out and when not to – she’s fully aware of how much attention she steals when she’s in the Royal lineup and the King and Queen appreciate her sensibilities when it comes to a cause close to his heart," told the source.

They continued, "The 60th anniversary of that terrible day is no trifle and not every Wales-related engagement needs both of them present – especially one focused on the King and the direct connection William already has with the community."

The insider explained that "The cold and flu season came through early this year in the UK."

"Don’t be surprised to see William flying solo while Kate takes extra precautions this winter with her weakened immune system," updated the tipster.
