Kareena Kapoor Khan has opened up about the most brought-up controversy regarding her career, which states that mother Babita Kapoor groomed her and sister Karisma Kapoor.
She was present for a chat at the BeerBiceps podcast, where the host asked whether her parent had a hand in “grooming her to become Kareena Kapoor?”
Responding to this, the actor said, “My mom was very strongly involved in my sister’s career because Karisma also started when she was just 14, and it was a different time.”
“She was one of the first in the family who was working. At that time, people used to say that light-eyed girls never make it in Bollywood, and mom was like ‘No.’ That also paved the way for me,” she added.
In the same interview, Kareena mentioned that the sister duo was born to Randhir Kapoor, who had a star-studded family of the Kapoors, although nobody in the house gave any filmy importance to themselves.
Babita came from a lineage of actors as well, but they were middle-class people, according to the star.
She mentioned that when Babita and Randhir separated, the siblings moved on to live a “basic childhood,” and so had to fetch for becoming independent.
