Prince William used to often prank Radio 1 by sending in messages asking for shout-outs.

According to The Mirror, DJ Adele Roberts has given away that he would ping texts to her Early Breakfast Show using fake names.

It was in 2017 that the Prince of Wales stopped by the radio studio for a special segment alongside wife Kate Middleton, where they came for giving the host a morale boost right before she ran the London marathon.

They also read Britain’s Official Singles Chart Top 40 with another radio presenter, Scott Mills, as they stepped in together for a surprise visit.

At this meeting, Prince William himself confessed to his little idea of a joke while they were off-air, and the same has now been disclosed by Adele Roberts in a recent interview for The Observer magazine.

She reported, “Prince Willam and Kate Middleton came to Radio 1 to wish me luck before I ran the London marathon.”

“He told me he used to listen to me on the Early Breakfast Show, and would sometimes message in with a fake name asking for a shout-out,” the radio jockey added.
