King Charles relationship with Prince Harry ‘beyond repair’ after royal snub

King Charles’ relationship with his son Prince Harry is seemingly ‘broken’ beyond repair

King Charles’ relationship with his son Prince Harry is seemingly ‘broken’ beyond repair, the monarch’s former butler Grand Harrold has claimed.

Harrold’s comments come a day after a spokesman for Prince Harry confirmed that King Charles will not be meeting the Duke of Sussex as he visits the UK this week for an Invictus Games event, citing the monarch’s ‘full programme’ of royal engagements.

Talking to GB News about the royal snub, Harrold said, “None of it really adds up. And as we know, the palace has not really commented about what Harry’s doing.”

“Obviously, there's been comments from the spokespeople, but there's no kind of clear indication as to how this relationship is progressing at all and it is sad to see that it has broken down,” the former royal butler stated.

Harrold then added that while he hopes that Prince Harry and King Charles’ ‘relationship will one day be fixed’, he can’t help but wonder ‘if it's a relationship that's beyond repair’.

He was then asked whether King Charles’ cold shoulder towards Harry could be because of the Duke’s comments about Charles’ wife Queen Camilla in his 2023 book Spare, Harrold said, “Oh, absolutely. I mean, you can't put something in a book and make those kinds of comments and expect everything to kind of be fine.”

“It's interesting because, again, for me it's very confusing because I always thought that they all got on, that doesn't mean to say that those thoughts and feelings weren’t there, it is completely possible, but it's just I never personally witnessed any of that.”

Prince Harry is currently in the UK to attend the 10th anniversary thanksgiving event for the Invictus Games, a cause close to his heart.

Meanwhile, King Charles remains busy with his royal commitments after making a return to public-facing duties last month following a break owing to his cancer diagnosis.
