Prince Andrew criticized as King Charles urged to keep him out of spotlight

Prince Andrew has been labelled 'embarrassing' following a 'catastrophic' recent appearance, prompting growing calls for the King to remove the Duke from public view to protect the royal family's reputation.

The disgraced Duke of York was reportedly ordered by the King to stay out of the spotlight after he was last seen with other senior royals at a memorial service for the late Greek ex-King Constantine, according to GB news.

Andrew had outpaced Princess Anne and Zara Tindall, two of the family's senior working members, through the castle grounds.

Speaking to the Sun, royal biographer Tom Bower described Andrew's appearance in February at Windsor Castle's St George's Chapel, when he led a group of royals, as "dire".

Bower added, "That memorial service front row was a catastrophic mistake - he pushed himself to the front."

He said, "I blame the King for not being more authoritarian for ordering Prince Andrew to stay out of public view."

The harsh comments come after it was revealed that Andrew would face the King's wrath due to a newly revealed plan that would give his residence, Royal Lodge, to his daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
