Francis Ford Coppola allegedly got behind a microphone and declared, “Sorry, if I come up to you and kiss you. Just know it’s solely for my pleasure.”

Just two months ahead of Megalopolis’ release, a video has released, showing him trying to smooch youthful female extras on the upcoming movie’s set.

Variety has received two footages, which were recorded by a crewmember while the makers were filming a drunk nightclub scene.

Two sources have told the media channel that the director was acting with “impunity,” perhaps because he has financed the film’s $120 million budget entirely by himself.

A reported from The Guardian has revealed that Francis Ford Coppola “tried to kiss some of the topless and scantily clad female extras,” stating that he’s “trying to get them in the mood.”

This story was published by the press agency right before Megalopolis was premiered at Competition in Cannes recently.

The snap circulated though Variety in question was captured on February 14, 2023, and features actress Nathalie Emmanuel at a concert hall named Tabernacle in Atlanda.

An insider estimated that 150 to 200 people were brought on set for the nightclub sequence, where Francis Ford Coppola kept “leaping up to hug and kiss several women.”

“I’ve worked with really important directors and that behavior is uncommon — the most I’ve ever seen any director do is say something like, ‘high energy, guys,' ” the person pointed out.

They added, “I’ve never seen anyone on set, and this extends to a camera operator, so much as touch an actor.”
