Pakistan is currently going through the third wave of coronavirus. The health experts have confirmed that the current wave of the novel virus is more dangerous than the previous ones.
While the government has initiated the free Covid-19 vaccination drive for people aged 60 and above in the country, many senior citizens, including prominent celebrities are getting the jab.
Amid the critical scenario of the vaccine not being commercially available for all, the netizens have expressed their anger and distress over some people for privilege and getting the vaccine out of turn.
The anger and criticism sparked after Pakistani actress and host Iffat Omar was seen in pictures and videos, getting vaccinated for coronavirus out of the turn.
The viral video took the internet by storm in which Federal Minister for Housing and Works Tariq Bashir Cheema and a few of his relatives can be seen receiving a free jab of the vaccine at his residence.
Though the minister has denied accusations that he had been vaccinated against the virus from the government's stock, he further claimed that a team from the University of Health Sciences (UHS) had arrived at his residence to administer a 'booster shot' of a 'trial vaccine,' as per Geo news reported.
Responding to the uproar on the internet, Omar also tweeted the same Geo TV report and asked people to "take it easy".
She also tweeted her response in a tweet, which she deleted later. In the tweet, she said that she had received a booster shot of the Chinese vaccine CanSino.
Netizens and journalists called out the minister and TV host Omar for using their privilege to jump the queues and be proud of their wrong deeds by justifying them.
While demanding apology from both Omar and Cheema, take a look at how netizens reacted on Twitter.
